Sonatas for violin and basso continuo by Bach, Krebs, Graun, and Pisendel
Johannes Pramsohler and Philippe Grisvard return to present their second duo album, this time pooling their talent to explore the works of J. S. Bach and his circle. Hailed by the international press for their “intoxicating” and “ingenious” performances, the pair embarks on an exciting programme of virtuosic sonatas for violin and basso continuo. The selection features two world-premiere recordings of works by Graun and Krebs, along with other rarely recorded sonatas attributed to Bach, whose legacy gave rise to a prodigious generation of German violinists.
Johannes Pramsohler et Philippe Grisvard présentent ici un deuxième album en duo, cette fois consacré à J. S. Bach et à son entourage. Après avoir été salué par la critique internationale pour leur « irrésistible » interprétation, « d’une richesse infinie de trouvailles », ils illustrent à quel point l’influence de Bach s’est exercée sur la musique pour le violon de son époque, démontrant ainsi que même après sa mort en 1750, une longue et solide tradition violonistique, porteuse d’avenir, était loin de s’être tarie. Parmi les œuvres choisies figurent deux premiers enregistrements mondiaux de Johann Gottlieb Graun et de Johann Ludwig Krebs.
Johannes Pramsohler und Philippe Grisvard präsentieren hiermit ihr zweites Duo-Album, das sich diesmal auf J. S. Bach und sein Umfeld konzentriert. Von der internationalen Presse für ihre “mitreißenden” und “immens erfindungsreichen” Interpretationen gelobt, beleuchten sie den Einfluss Bachs auf die Violinmusik seiner Zeit und zeigen auf, dass auch nach 1750 eine lange, solide Violintradition zukunftsweisend fortgesetzt wurde. Mit in der Auswahl sind zwei Weltersteinspielungen von Johann Gottlieb Graun und Johann Ludwig Krebs.
